The Womens’ Program
The Mahila Mandals
As the cornerstone of CORD's development approach, Mahila Mandals are dynamic women's collectives that drive transformation. These groups empower women financially, socially, and politically—creating ripple effects that strengthen entire communities through strengthened decision-making and leadership.
What We Do- CORDUSA Women’s Mentorship Program
Our volunteers are strong women who are driven to help women in the community that are struggling to find a way in life. They meet and discuss topics that are decided by the women themselves, with members driving the agenda and discussions. While experienced facilitators can suggest initial topics like resume crafting, professional networking, career development, and personal wellness, the heart of CORDUSA's model lies in participant-led dialogue. Expert speakers from partner organizations join to share insights and facilitate meaningful discussions, always keeping women's voices and needs at the center.
2024-2025 Activities report
CORDUSA Raleigh’s 2024–25 journey began with the formation of a dedicated women’s volunteer group following Cary Diwali 2024, united by a shared passion for community service. Early efforts focused on building partnerships with local organizations such as The Women’s Center of Wake County, TCP, CASA, and Kiran Inc. Through meetings, trainings, and outreach, volunteers deepened their understanding of community needs and explored meaningful ways to contribute.
Key initiatives included meal service, donation drives, and engaging events like Flavors Fiesta, fostering connection with families and women in need. The chapter also hosted awareness and self-development sessions, strengthening both community impact and volunteer bonding. The 10th Annual CORD Run successfully raised funds and awareness, supporting local causes. Overall, the year reflected a strong commitment to service, empowerment, and building compassionate community connections.
